Of course, before starting a painting must have a number of art supplies. There are hundreds if not thousands of supplies and gadgets related to painting and many more brands to choose from. Here lists the most essential tools you need to create an oil painting, that is, at least the way I create such a painting. Here we go:
* Brushes – Once again, there are hundreds of types of brushes and many different brands. But for starters, you really only need a fewbrushes nutty quality good enough (if you can afford).
1. A big do not. 10 or 12
2. One or two no. 8's
3. One or two no. 6's
4. A small no. 2
This is more than enough. The reason I suggest is that hazel brush more or less combine the capabilities of a round and a flat brush. Moreover, the main reason why we need two brushes of the same size is that you can then use two colors at once. That means, less brush rinsing.
* Canvas – A bunch ofcanvases. At this moment I recommend you buy pre-stretched canvases in order to start to paint. Good starting points are standard sizes 16 "x 12" or 18 "x24". You can also use canvas panels which could sometimes be cheaper depending on where you buy them.
* Easel – Need a stand to put your canvas. Try to buy a sturdy tripod. In fact, you could even make your own wooden tripod, if you are a bit 'at hand.
* Palette – I prefer a palette of paper of at least 16 "x20". I actuallyuse a 18 "x24" which gives me more space (that is, of course, when I paint at home). These sheets are available in pads of 50 sheets palette and are not very expensive. Are used for mixing your paints.
* Paint – Yes, you need paint! Try to buy tubes of paint containing at least 37 ml. Some brands have tubes and 200 ml in some colors (like white) can also offer larger containers. The full range of colors used pipe is also called a palette. As a starting palette I suggestthe following colors:
1. Lemon Yellow
2. Cadmium Yellow
3. Cadmium Red
4. Permanent Rose
5. French overseas
6. Phthalo Blue (Red Shade)
7. Titanium White
8. Ivory Black
Of course, as you get more experience, you can add some color tube. However, when you start is probably better to use colors as possible. The colors above can produce very clean secondary colors and all kinds of tertiary ones as well. secondary colorsare colors that are made with two colors and those are tertiary colors are made with three colors.
* Turpentine – If you use real oil paints then you need at least a quart of turpentine or a substitute. If you use water soluble oil paints then all you need is water regularly.
* Junk – If you use real oil paints you need a small container of linseed oil. You could also get a can of spray paint retouching. And finally, some rolls of paper towels.
This is aboutminimum necessary to start oil painting. As mentioned before, there are many more tools to be had. I suggest going to a couple of art shops and see what they have. You can also check some Internet stores and maybe purchase some of the instruments particularly useful to you.
